FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short, honest answers to the things people ask us most.

The basics

What is Kelbie?

Kelbie is a personal wellness tracker that combines the things you'd normally spread across five different apps — water, weight, sleep, movement, meditation, cycle, supplements, measurements — into one place, with an AI layer that helps you notice patterns across them. The idea is that most wellness data is more useful when it's connected: your sleep gets better on days you move; your energy dips in the luteal phase; your waist measurement drifts up when you're under-hydrated. Single-metric apps can't tell you any of that.

Who is Kelbie for?

People who want to track multiple things about their health and get a clearer picture than any single-purpose app can give them. We're not a clinical tool or a replacement for working with a doctor, nutritionist, or therapist. We're the place you keep your own data, in your own words, for your own purposes.

Is Kelbie free?

Kelbie is currently in invite-only beta. Beta users get free access while we're building. We'll share pricing well before we introduce paid plans, and early users will get meaningful grandfathered benefits.

Trust and safety

Is this medical advice?

No. Kelbie helps you track your own data and notice patterns — it's not a medical device, and its AI insights aren't a substitute for advice from a licensed healthcare provider. If you're making decisions about medication, diet, exercise, or symptoms you're worried about, talk to a qualified professional. Kelbie is designed to be a useful input to those conversations, not a replacement for them.

How does Kelbie's AI handle sensitive topics?

Kelbie's AI is deliberately cautious about health and body topics. It will describe your patterns and highlight things you might want to notice, but it won't prescribe targets, recommend you eat less, push you toward specific weights, or give medical advice. For users with histories involving disordered eating, restrictive dieting, or other sensitive patterns, those guardrails tighten further. We think carefully about these defaults because wellness data is personal and the cost of getting it wrong is real.

What about HIPAA?

Kelbie is a direct-to-consumer app, not a healthcare provider, insurer, or clearinghouse — so HIPAA doesn't apply to us in the way it applies to a doctor's office or hospital. That doesn't mean we treat your data casually. We encrypt data in transit and at rest, we don't sell or share it with advertisers, and we apply strict access controls on our side. We're transparent about this distinction because we'd rather tell you exactly what protections apply than imply a compliance badge we don't legitimately carry.

Who can see my data?

You. Nobody else sees your individual data. We don't sell it to advertisers, data brokers, research firms, insurers, or anyone else. Anonymized, aggregated statistics may inform how we build the product (for example, "what percentage of users log water on weekends") but your specific logs, photos, and notes never leave your account.

What about the progress photos I upload?

Progress photos are treated with extra care. They're encrypted at rest, never used to train models, never shown to anyone at Kelbie unless you report a problem with the feature and explicitly share them with our support team, and deleted from all backups within a reasonable window after account deletion.

Where is my data stored?

On our servers, currently hosted in the United States. We can share specific infrastructure details with enterprise prospects or privacy-conscious users on request.

What you get

What can I track in Kelbie?

Built-in trackers cover water, weight, sleep (including naps), movement and workouts, meditation, cycle, supplements and medications, body measurements, mood, and a daily accountability check-in. You can also create custom trackers for anything else — alcohol, caffeine, reading minutes, migraines, whatever matters to you.

How does the AI work?

Kelbie's AI uses your tracked data to surface patterns, answer questions ("how's my water intake been this month?"), generate a daily insight summary, and provide supportive check-in prompts. You can adjust its tone (warm, direct, or clinical) and how much detail it includes. You can also turn AI features off entirely if you prefer pure self-tracking.

Can I adjust how Kelbie talks to me?

Yes. In Settings > AI, you can choose a tone (Warm, Direct, or Clinical) and a brevity level (Concise, Standard, or Detailed). Changes apply immediately, and you can adjust them any time — including mid-conversation, via a link under any AI message.

Do you integrate with Apple Health, Oura, Whoop, Garmin, Fitbit, or Google Fit?

Not yet — but this is on the roadmap. We're prioritizing based on what users ask for most. The most likely first integration is Apple Health, followed by Oura. We'll announce specific integrations publicly once they're in beta. In the meantime, Kelbie supports manual entry for everything, and some users have set up automated workflows using third-party tools.

Can I import data from other apps?

Import from specific apps (MyFitnessPal, Lose It, etc.) is in development. If you have years of data you'd like to bring over and we don't yet support your source, email us — we can often help on a one-off basis during beta.

The mechanics of beta

What happens after beta?

A few things in order. We'll introduce paid plans, likely with a generous free tier for basic tracking and paid tiers for AI features and integrations. Beta users get significant grandfathered benefits — exact details to come, but you won't wake up one day with your data behind a paywall. We'll give clear notice before any plan changes take effect.

What if I want to stop using Kelbie?

You can delete your account any time, with no steps hidden behind support tickets. Account deletion removes your logs, photos, AI conversation history, and account details from our systems within 30 days, including from backups. We're transparent about this because the ability to leave cleanly is part of what makes it safe to stay.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Email us at hello@kelbie.ai, or use the in-app feedback button under your profile. We read everything, and in beta we reply to most messages personally. Feature requests get triaged into a public-facing roadmap you can see in the app.

Boring stuff that matters

What devices and browsers work with Kelbie?

Kelbie is a web app that works in any modern browser on desktop, tablet, and phone. It's designed mobile-first, and most users use it primarily on their phones. Native iOS and Android apps are on the roadmap but not yet available.

What languages is Kelbie available in?

English only, for now. Other languages are on the roadmap, prioritized by user demand.

How do I contact a real person?

support@kelbie.ai or via the in-app chat. During business hours (US Eastern time) we usually respond within a few hours. Outside business hours, within 24–48.
